5/21/22 - It’ll Be a Cold Day in Hades When I’m Not Selling Pottery on the Weekends

Sure, it’s a bummer when Colorado weather in May doesn’t resemble the summer, but I can assure you this:

It’ll be a cold day in Hades when I’m not selling plants and pottery on the weekends this Spring.

I’m so serious about selling pottery in the Spring that let’s push my official daily closing time from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. right here and now.

For those keeping track of these pottery posts at home, that means until further notice, this house full of house plants and backyard filled with planters is open from 10:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Find everything pictured and beyond in the North Denver neighborhood of Sherrelwood, directly off Highway 36 and the Pecos exit.

Planters cost between $1 and $110 currently. A glazed ceramic planter under 18 inches costs between $10 and $75 on average. A terracotta pot costs between $1 and $35 and could be anywhere from 2.5 to 18.1 inches.

Plants range from $5 to $45 for the most part, with the majority of my philodendron, cacti, succulents, pothos, ZZ plants, and monstera sitting somewhere in this range. There is a cactus or dracaena or indoor yucca or two that costs more, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

The real name of the game here is multi item discounts. Purchase two or more items, whether plants or pots, and receive a discount from the listed price. Buy enough things, and I’ll likely toss in some free items from your order.

Free discounts are the main kind of free I offer, but what the hail, you and everyone you know is welcome to all of the following completely free of charge:

Entertainment (@ahouseofpots), rescues (if you spot a dying plant), cuttings (if I like you), broken pottery (all kinds), terracotta for kids (who come to the store with you), nursery pots (they’re garbage), cardboard (it’s garbage), styrofoam (it’s garbage), and advice (it’s garbage).

As always, even when there’s snow on the ground or blazing sun over head, there’s pottery jargon:

I’m too lazy to write new sentences about a green greenhouse, pottery, a plant stand, Arvada, and Aurora, so I’m just going to let this jargon, pottery barn be.
